Whether you can hike 10 miles or only 10 steps to get to the fridge for a cold one, please (pretty please!!) join me in support of the Norton Virtual Hike, Dec. 4, 2021.
All you have to do is register to be on my team and then take 1,000 steps anywhere you like to commemorate the 1,000th lifesaving lung transplant performed at St. Joseph's Norton Thoracic Institute, where more lives are saved through this procedure than almost anywhere else in the country (not kidding!).
Even IF YOU DON'T HIKE, PLEASE CONSIDER MAKING A DONATION, WHICH WILL BE MATCHED BY ONE OF OUR GENEROUS DOCTORS--doubling your contribution to the cause!
This event is inspired by a COVID-19 survivor who has challenged the team that saved his life at St. Joseph's to climb Camelback Mountain with him on Dec. 4, 2021. This patient was given a nearly 0% chance to recover from the virus in March 2020, but he pulled through with the help of our hospital's expert pulmonologists.
You can hike any day, anywhere, with anyone you'd like, and connect with others on your adventure using #Norton1000.
Please know that any amount you give can help support lifesaving care at the hospital where I work -- St. Joseph's. I have been blessed to meet many of the patients whose lives have been saved here. You can only imagine how grateful a mother or father with young children at home are when they are gifted more time with their family!
Please help our hospital save more lives by participating. I promise that I will like you better than all my other friends if you do. :)
P.S. The picture above is my family (including my kids' partners) just before we hiked into Havasupai/Grand Canyon. The little photo is of Zeb the Wonder Dog, our favorite child.
